HD DVD has a dual-layer capacity of 30 GB and a single-layer capacity of 15 GB. HD DVD can offer both the current DVD and HD DVD formats on one disc, which means that special HD DVD discs will play in any DVD player, old or the new high definition players. Backward compatibility will be available with all HD DVD players, allowing you to have a single drive in your home to play both HD DVD and DVD discs. With HDMI output, you connect the HP Pavilion dv9000t to your HD TV and there is no need for a separate HD DVD player. HD DVDs add another capability: superior sound quality. Dolby(R) Digital Plus technology brings enhanced audio fidelity for a more realistic listening experience. HD DVD uses iHD, a solution designed and optimized specifically for HD DVD addressing over 80 interactive scenarios developed with content providers in the DVD Forum. NVIDIA(R) PureVideo(TM) HD technology lets you enjoy stunning HD DVD movies with superb picture clarity, low CPU utilization, and low power consumption. DISCLAIMERS: Blu-ray Discs cannot be played on this Notebook PC. Approximately 2048MB of the hard drive is dedicated for HP QuickPlay and will not be user accessible. As HD DVD is a new format containing new technologies, certain disc, digital connection, compatibility and/or performance issues may arise, and do not constitute defects in the product. Flawless playback on all systems is not guaranteed. Make sure your AC Adapter is plugged in to an external power source while viewing HD DVD content. Since CPU power is dedicated to support HD DVD playback function, you must close all other applications before launching HD DVD playback. HD DVD movies will only play through HP QuickPlay software. In order for some HD-DVD titles to play, they may require an HDMI digital connection and your display may require HDCP support. Advanced Access Content System (AACS) keys are integrated into your PC for copy protection purposes. Occasional renewal of the AACS key is required, and easily done by connecting to the Internet.
