The HP Pavilion dv6000
“The 6.5-pound HP Pavilion dv6000 updates the HP Pavilion dv5000 with the latest AMD processors and media-friendly features.
Buyers have their choice of either an AMD Sempron or a Turion 64 X2 processor at speeds from 1.6GHz to 1.8GHz; up to 2GB of 533MHz or 667MHz RAM; 5,400rpm hard drives in capacities from 60GB to 120GB; and either discrete Nvidia GeForce Go 7200 graphics with 64MB of dedicated VRAM or an integrated GeForce Go 6150 video card.
The system’s 15.4-inch wide-screen display has a native resolution of 1,280×800, and its entertainment features include multimedia controls, QuickPlay software, dual headphone jacks, and an HP Mobile Remote Control.
Other features include S-Video out and FireWire ports, 802.11a/b/g wireless, Bluetooth, a dual-layer DVD burner, and a 5-in-1 memory card reader. A Webcam, an ExpressCard slot, and dual microphones are available as options.
Pricing for the HP Pavilion dv6000 starts at $929–pretty good for such a strong set of component options and most of the features that a basic home user will want.
We’re concerned about performance, though: the first few AMD Turion 64 X2-based systems we reviewed weren’t able to keep up with their Intel-based counterparts.” - writes CNET.com about this new addition to Pavilion line and expects a HP Pavilion dv6000 review unit in the CNET Labs shortly, so look for a full review soon.
